NYE Styled 5 Ways

I styled New Years Eve for you 5 Ways. Wherever tonight finds you, I hope you all have a fun and safe New Years Eve!

Girls Night Out New Years! Throw on a crazy girlie party dress and textured tights. I paired a colorful clutch for fun and gold/girlie accessories. Compact, lip gloss, & a camera are a must!

If you're one of the million plus people going to Times Square to watch the ball drop you will need to bundle up! But that doesn't mean you can't look amazing! Grab some sequin or shiny leggings, a chunky knit, and some over the knee FLAT (you'll be standing ALL night) boot. Throw on a coat and some cute warm and furry accessories. Take a small cross body bag to prevent loosing anything.

Spending the special evening with your honey? A long sleeved short LBD is perfect for this occasion. This dress is screaming to be accessorized beautifully. A statement necklace as well as a red lip are a must for that kiss at midnight.

If I could be anywhere to ring in 2010 I'd want to be in Miami at the Fountainebleau seeing Gaga! I love this colorful DVF dress, it's Miami bring out the colors, MAC eye shadow, and huge pumps. This black sequined heart clutch is for Gaga.

Finally, if you're like me you're staying in get comfy and sparkly! Throw on some denim leggings and a sequined tunic and a New Years tiara. Dash and I will be drinking champagne ringing in the New Year with my old E! pal Ryan Seacrest!

I have a feeling 2010 is going to be great!

Obsession of the Week

It's Tuesday time for my obsession of the week post! This week I've been currently Google stalking/looking for inspiration from...

Nicole is hands down one of my style icons. I look to her to edge my look up a bit, for that bohemian LA girl part of me. She loves leopard, leggings, fringe boots, and scarves like me. Plus she has a Balenciaga handbag obsession that I've recently adopted..

I love her daily use of scarves and sunglasses. She knows how to accessorize to jazz up and outfit without looking like she tried too hard. I love this look comfortable yet chic and confident.

Again great accessories here yet she looks so comfy.

LOVE this over sized Balenciaga bag and fur vest.

She is petite but works her frame in this great romper. Again fashion forward without sacrificing comfort.

Yet she always knows how to dress up and keep a little funk, like with this classic dress and python print pumps.
Love ya Nic!

Fashion Challenge Cont.

I paired some outfits together to show Michelle how versatile her school wardrobe can be. Styling is my passion and I love helping anyone put together a look and showing them that it is easy to put together an amazing outfit. If you have a fashion challenge I'd love to help you solve it (molldoll428@gmail.com)

Fashion Challenge

My good friend/sorority sister Michelle is pretty much my first free lancing styling client. Anything Michelle has coming up I personal shop for her whether it be in person or online. When I can't be with her I make polyvores for her of what I envision the look to be and try to help her capture that vision as best as I can possible without physically being there. Michelle recently returned to her home Miami to attend University of Miami-huge change from our small town school Auburn. So she needed some help back to school shopping. Michelle and I have a similar style as one day we want to be preppy or one day hippie bohemian. I made three different polyvores or tops/bottoms/ shoes & accessories for her new school wardrobe. She wanted to be comfortable and stylish and stay cool in the Miami weather.

Tops:
1. Flowy tunics with prints. Keep her cool, stylish, and comfortable. She can wear a bandeau top underneath and head to the beach!
2. Hanes white cotton v-necks are a must to wear with huge necklaces, shorts, or vests/cardigans.
3. Light fun graphic tees
4. Fun and comfy vests girly, edgy, and somewhat dressy.
5. Light cotton dresses and a maxi dress is a must!
6. Preppy button downs to pair with ripped denim or cuffed linen shorts.
7. Light blazers to dress up any outfit
8. Boyfriend cardigans and one with a print (it is Miami!)

Bottoms
1. Ripped denim is must in blue and white. Wear all of the above with them.
2. Linen pants in colors such as coral or a fun print like leopard. She can pair these with a plain or neutral tee.
3. High waisted grandpa short for her preppy moods.
4. Leggings black and funky prints.
5. Jersey skirts with florals
6.Light opaque tights pair with shorts/skirts.
7. Boyfriend jeans/denim trousers to dress up/white ripped jeans/dark denim/cropped black pants.

Accessories/Shoes:
1. One funky print plastic tote to carry her books/coffee/ ect in.
2. A neutral leather tote to switch out with #1.
3. Sunnies Sunnies Sunnies!
4. A neutral watch so she's on time for class!
5. Men's inspired oxford shoe
6.Gladiators
7. Havianas
8. Ballet flats in a neutral/metallic
9. Funky rain boots for those rainy Miami days
10. Funky bangles in lots of colors
11. A pearl cocktail ring for her dainty yet still funky side she can wear daily
12. Rosary per her request
13. She can also pick up some fun printed light weight scarves!
14. A straw fedora

I'm heading to the mountains for a few days til New Years. I never know how to pack for snow! I've only done it a few times. Wish I could look like this fabulous lady in fur! What do you guys bring on cold weather trips? On the itinerary: eating/movies/shopping. I will update you on my shopping adventures and hopefully take pictures with my sister's new camera of some outfits.

My Fashion Library

Since I never have to go to CLASS again--my Christmas list was stacked with some reading--non grad school themed of course! I am really into reading/collecting style guides, fashion books, coffee table picture books. Which also is my excuse for lack of posting besides being in a post Christmas coma-I've been curled up in bed reading! Here is a review of the books I've recently added to my fashion library:

I started Nina's book on Friday and finished it yesterday morning. I couldn't put it down. This is my third style guide that I've gotten and I love having a library full of different tips from different style doctors such as Rachel Zoe, the ladies of WhoWhatWear.Com, and Nina Garcia. This is one of her three books, and I wanted to start with her first one. It was interesting because it goes into Nina's childhood and her early love of fashion and style. She also includes perspectives from powerhouses such as Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, Caroline Herrera, and Diane von Furstenburg. Next on the Nina list-The Style Strategy & One Hundred: A Guide To The Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own. The black book is a definite must for ANY fashionista. Get it here.

I think I was most excited about this book being under my tree. It literally is a handbook. It is broken down into careers including: Editor, Photographer, Stylist (yeay), Designer. Then three powerhouses from each career give advice, interviews, and it even includes a "kit" for each career. I am going to keep it on hand during my upcoming internship and any girl trying to break into the fashion industry needs this handbook at an arms length! Plus you get a free Teen Vogue subscription...you don't have to ask me twice! Get it here.

Don't act surprised to see this little number in my library. We all know she is my favorite. This book is written by American Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley. This book has amazing pictures of a young and current Diane, her wraps, old campaigns, ect. Just a glimpse into the life of Diane and the development of the wrap. A coffee table must. I love it-you should too get it here.

Now time for some fiction. I mentioned this book in an earlier post-it literally took me three days to read I could not put it down. It is my favorite type of fiction writing, each chapter about a different character from their viewpoint building up to when they all collide! The main female characters are all involved in the fashion industry upcoming designer, editors, and a stylist. Plus it takes place in fabulous New York amongst the socialite crowd which whether you want to admit it or not you know is fascinating. You even have your own Olivia Palermo in this novel-you know I'm there! Next on the Bridie Clark list: Because I can.

This is what is currently on my night stand. This is a biography/non fiction about Marjorie Hart's summer at the first sales woman (with her friend Marty) to work at Tiffany. It takes place in 1945 in New York and it is fabulous. It is written like a diary including entries about waiting on the Met stairs for midshipmen, and a budget which included their rent and electricity costs $65 a month and two nickels per day for the subway. Those were the days! This book takes me away to a fabulous time in New York. I even went old school via Carrie Bradshaw and check it out of the library! Or get it here.

Dirty Denim

Seeing this trend pop up everywhere. Thinking about joining the team. A little bit of an 80's edge...can't get enough of the 80's. Im picturing it with a baggy tee and fringe boots?

Fly Me to the Moon

I am doing a lot of traveling the next few weeks. I feel like I always sport the same ensemble when I travel but comfort is must. I made a fun polyvore of what I'll be toting with me this trip.

I always wear my satin leggings because they are comfortable and still stylish and don't show any spots of something happens to get on them. I always wear a baggy cardigan with a baggy tank underneath because the temperature in the airplane I feel like it goes from hot to cold to hot. I always wear flats or flat boots easy to take to off through security and on the plane. A large scarf is a must because it can double as a blanket!

Since I'm lugging my laptop/I-pod/ and mags I always bring a Longchamp-again water and stain resistant, travels nicely. My partner in crime perfect travel companion my Pomeranian Dash and his carrier! I get such a work out lugging him around with my other stuff. I only take like one or two magazines and the book of the moment Overnight Socialite ( I feel like you ALL would LOVE it). Huge sunnies are a must for that person who WONT put their window shade down. A fresh chapstick is a must, is it just me or do your lips get so rough during a flight? I usually bring a DVD set to watch because my flight is short, one episode of Gossip Girl and I'm there!

Happy & safe travels dolls.

Steal My Style

I was perusing one of my favorite blogs Frugal-Fashionistas and I loved and was inspired two of the outfits they posted. I made a polyvore of my take on both of them.

I love this look, comfy and chic.

This would be a great day to night outfit with the right jewelry.

I searched high and low for a screen cap of Anna Lynn Mccord of CW's 90210 and could not find one with her wearing this awesome outfit from the episode "Winter Wonderland". Wish I had a picture to show you but this is the gist of the look.

Want to steal all of these looks!

Winter Vamp

How awesome is this woman? I am eating up the platforms, serious cuffs, polka dot textured tights, and of course the fur. Fab in Vogue EspaƱa.

Rachel Roy Macy's Spring 2010

Rachel Roy's pieces have always caught my eye and I think its fabulous that she has
a line for Macy's. Her line for the current season has great fur vests, jewelry, and fun party dresses. The Cut blog (New York Magazine's fashion blog) gave us a sneak peak at Rachel's Spring line which I love even more than the current one! She has mixed a lot of soft and chic with hard and edgy which is my favorite to mix together. Here are some of my favorites:

I love this blazer and yummy silk shorts. This is a good transition outfit from winter to spring. Switch out tights and ankle booties for tanned legs and platforms.

Love this fish eye cocktail ring. So different.

This will be a definite must for all the Polo matches I'll be going to for my internship.

Love the red studded shoes.

Could wear this everyday, love the pop of turquoise.

Love these tie dyed shorts with this studded vest.

The line will be available mid January! You can get her current line of fabulousness here.

Rainy Days

It has been disgustingly cold and rainy outside I have not been sporting anything cute besides leggings, Burberry rainboots, jeans, and Coach tennies. However, I had to post this precious gift from my friend Sarah at Southern Belle Fashionista. I love this scarf! Very chic.
Just the pop of color I needed
Monday on a terrible rainstorm!

Obsession of the Week: Kim Kardashian

More like obsession ALWAYS. She is one of my style icons. I just ADORE this outfit! I can not believe this amazing jacket is from Bebe. I can't wait til it comes out I am going to get my hands on it! I have also been pining for a pair of cropped black skinny pants hello! Thought this blog also appropriate since Keeping up the Kardashians premiered this past Sunday and Kourtney just had her little bonbon of a baby!
When I interned in wardrobe @ E! I just so happened to intern under Kim's soon to be stylist Monica Rose. She is amazing and super nice. I love her eye for a mix of edgy and chic. Her personal style is amazing as well. I go to her blog everyday for inspiration. You all should too here!
