December is here!

I can't believe it's December already! Thanksgiving flew by! Sorry for my lack of posting-I forgot my camera cord over the break and meant to do outfit break downs ect but ended up shopping for a new car and just soaking up every minute with my family! But the semesters wrapping up and I am back dolls! I love this time of the year-yummy Starbucks Holiday drinks, Christmas music-movies-parties, and of course extra SHOPPING!

Navajo Nymphs

On my radar this week has been navajo print chunky knits. I haven't tried any on but I've been seeing them as I do my daily grazing across fashion sites and shopping sites. They have a vintage feel and are a throw back to the 80s. They look really warm and there are cardigans, ponchos, and sweater vests! They all can be styled a number of different ways. Here is a variety of places and price points for these warm little numbers:

Project Runway Three's a Crowd

Are you all excited for Project runway tonight? It is down to the final three and it is all
women! Irina Shabayeva, Althea Harper, and Carol Hanna Whitfield.

I am secretly rooting for Irina. I know she isn't everyones or anyones favorite because shes the "bitch" but I fell in love with her after the Newspaper and the Michael Kors challenge! Irina design aesthetic
appeals to me because she is always mentioning a high class young woman sipping champagne! Sounds right up my fashion alley! Plus I just adore her model Kayln. I think she absolutely beautiful and she is the
nicer one of the models. (I am so glad Katy left she was driving me nuts--get over the double sided tape!) For me Irina's collection would be something I would actually
buy, but I can see her 'tude making her seem like she may be difficult to work with in the future. But I can't help it I always love the sassy "bitchy" girls :)

My second pick would be Althea. I really liked
her dress she designed for
Christina Aguilera with the black fur cropped jacket. Although the judges didn't like her piece inspired by the Getty Museum I thought it was gorgeous and I love the silhouettes she creates with her designs. I feel like all women of different shapes and sizes could wear and enjoy her clothes. Her model Tanisha is FIERCE! She really knows how to work the catwalk and honestly Althea should be thanking her for making her clothes look impeccable and sexy!

As for Carol Hannah-she is hit or miss for me. She hasn't really made anything that has necessarily wowed me. I did like her Christina dress but I don't feel like she takes any chances or puts heavy thought and creativity into what she makes. I think she is the public's favorite though because of her cute personality.Who do you guys think is going to win? What do you think of the show being on Lifetime and located in LA? As much as LA
has a special place in my heart I feel the
the show belongs in NY and we need more Michael and Nina! Watch tonight on Lifetime @10pm/9pm central.

Obsession of the Week

So I go through phases with things in my closet. One week I'll be really into wearing shorts, or trophy jackets, this week I am finding myself hanging out in my dress section of my closet. I have seen this editorial "Babes in Arms" all over the place but I came across it first in my October issue of VOGUE and was very excited to start wearing dresses and tights.
Even though it was 75 yesterday I just love this look! Especially the sleeves. It is continuing with the theme of the angular shoulders drawing attention to the arms and minimizing the waist. Wearing long sleeved dresses with tights and open toe shoes is a look I am obsessed with this week! You can go from solids, metallics, or funky prints they are all great a look for anyone.

You can find long sleeved dresses just about anywhere, the three I have in my closet are from DVF, Mara Hoffman, and a local boutique. This rain we are having better bring the cold back so I can wear one this week! This is also a great look for Holiday parties. Any girl can find one suiting her budget but I think they are must for the fall/winter!

Where the Wild Things Are II

So it was like fate this weekend when I went into Walmart to pick up some last minute things for my Halloween costume and I found these! I was just saying how I wanted a nice animal print scarf that would be fashionable and keep me warm but without the heavy price tag--and behold were these little numbers. I couldn't wait to tell you all!
They are so soft and very good quality in so many colors for...5 bucks! I bought two and I am obsessed with them! I paired the brown and black one with this look.

Haute Halloween Costumes

It is almost time for Halloween! I am sad that this will be my last year to get away with multiple costumes! I put together polyvores of my costumes and two costumes I think will be all over this place this year.
Happy Haunting :)

Blair Waldorf
I guess none of you are suprised that one night I am being Blair Waldorf. My boyfriend
and friends have been giving me attitude about this costume selection for the simple fact that they think I put my "Blair" on everyday in my ensembles and I won't look dressed up. At least I didn't have to buy anything! All you need is a girly skirt & shirt, a bow head band, funky tights, and girlish flats or ankle boots and your set. Still trying to convince my boyfriend to be my Chuck Bass. XOXO
Garth from Wayne's World:
This is what I am being on Saturday. I thought it would be pretty funny. My boyfriend is being Wayne so I am Garth. I am just throwing on ripped skinnies, a vintage tee, a warm fitted flannel, clear Raybans, and little boys converse. This outfit didn't cost much at all either. The rocker make up is a must. Totally Dude!
MJ (RIP):
I know there will be a lot of MJ costumes this year honoring the late and the great. I thought itd be pretty simple to get this costume together. Throw on a military inspired jacket, a white V-Neck,get some sequin or shiny leggings, and some cute studded flats or oxfords. Now whose Bad?
Lady GaGa:
I think this would be such a fun costume! Anything goes here! Leather, sequins, angular shoulders, short hems, corsets, jackets, boots, a blonde hair piece, crazy make up and your best Poker Face.
