Coming Up Roses

I must have this blazer. It is part of H&M's Garden Collection which everyone is talking about now, as it just hit stores. It is Spring line and also eco-friendly with organic cotton, linen, recycled polyester, and renewable material tencel. My favorite piece is this blazer with roses. Would look great with a pair of tight dark skinnies and sky high pumps. Check out the rest of the line here.

Obsession of the Week

Back to posting my Tuesday Obsession of the Week! I've been slacking but still having weekly fashion obsession need not to worry! This week I am loving cuffing your skinnies or boyfriend jeans. I just got a pair of white skinnies and wore them cuffed with some wedges for an extra Springy look. I personally also think it makes you look a bit taller for all of you shorter ladies. Cuff your pant twice where the pant will fall right above your ankle bone. Pair this look with wedges, flats, gladiators, pumps there is no limit to what you put on your feet with this style! Check out Jessica, Victoria, and Kim for inspiration.

Red Carpet Round Up: Teen Choice Awards

Loving the looks popping up into my blog roll this week from Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards. Here is my red carpet round up of favorites:

Zoe Saldana: A great Spring look! Keeping this in mind for my own ensemble inspiration
Selena Gomez: If I were a teen I'd want to be her-love the side braid.
Victoria Justice: The jewel tone green and those black booties stunning
Rihanna: Loving this toned down look for her but still a bit of edge with the shoulders and on trend with nude.

Oliva Palermo Baubles

My guilty pleasure Olivia Palermo is using her name and social status (as she does best) for her new jewelry line with Roberta Freymann. Olivia has been known for sporting fantastic bib necklaces around the Elle offices and on "The City" so it is no surprise this is where she landed for her first designing destination. Roberta was also featured in this past season of "The City". Olivia knows how to keep those contacts! The pieces range from $175-$300 and are now available at Roberta Freymann boutiques and select retailers. Don't forget to see the new season of "The City" on MTV April 27 at 10:30!

Eco-Chic Fashion at UF

This past week has been a whirl wind. I wanted to share with you all what I was working on last week. My good friend Ebben asked
me to be one of the stylists for a fashion show he was producing at UF benefiting UF's foundation Gators United for Haiti. The show had two major themes eco-friendly and multi-cultural. I helped out with the eco-friendly looks along with the other stylist Krista. We had pulls from local stores, vintage stores, Banana Republic's Heritage line, and Lily Pulitzer's new eco-friendly line.It was great to be part of a show that wasn't necessarily geared toward generating sales. I love being in the fast paced environment back stage and felt like I was definately in my element! Thanks to Ebben for asking me to be a part of it!

Here are some looks from the show!

Spring Break Done Right

This post was inspired by a true horrendous outfit sighting. I was stuck in the airport and saw a girl wearing the above. No joke. Homemade Spring Break tackiness. This is not ok.
I understand the excitement of going away for break but:
1. It isn't ok to advertise where you're going too many crazies out there
2. I am all about DIY but maybe a DIY Chloe shirt, last time I checked neither of these pieces were on the runway
3. You should dress for your best self no matter where you go.

So I put together some alternatives for you. For the travel I understand you want to be comfortable, ok so throw on some denim shorts, a nice light blouse, and some wedges. For the beach wear your suit and some bangles to dress it up. Going to dinner and drinks afterward? Throw on a bright caftan and your wedges and you're set. Come on ladies! Dress for your best self no matter where you are heading.

Obsession of the Week

This week I am obsessed with wooden wedges! With the clog making a come back, chunky and wooden platforms and wedges have been popping up all over the shoe departments. In my opinion the higher the better! These are great for your Spring dresses, wide leg linen trousers, rompers, shorts all of your warm wear. I suggest a neutral color to extend your leg and make you look taller. I got the Jeffrey Campbell "Miracle" for my birthday and have worn them non stop. They are not only adorable they're so comfortable!

Fashion Math: Rompers+Blazers

One of my favorite Spring trends that is blooming everywhere is pairing flirty rompers with blazers for a more refined look. This pairing would be great for work (if trendy wear is allowed), lunch/dinner, or a night out on the town. A definite day to night must. Add tights/pumps/flats whatever suits your mood! Check out Kourt and her blazer romper pairing!

Oscar Ensemble Break Down

So the Oscar red carpet last night was filled with ups and downs. I have to admit I was expecting to be blown away but my best dressed list was pretty easy.

Hands down I thought Zoe Saldana was best dressed in Givenchy. From the minute I saw her get out of her limo I couldn't take my eyes off the dress. I know a lot of people didn't understand her dress but THIS is how you dress for the Oscars. Her movie was nominated, she's young this is how you're supposed to dress. Her outfit pushed the limit but not to far and it the colors looked amazing on her.

Coming a close second to Zoe I thought Meryl Streep was breath taking. She was dressed age appropriate and looked like a Hollywood goddess in Chris March (Project Runway Alum!). Also loving Carey Mulligan. It is not easy to pull off pleats and jewels, created a nice silhouette for her. Rachel McAdams' dress is absolutely beautiful and not too over the top. Penelope is always a gem in my eyes, her earrings gave this outfit the little touch of glam it needed.

Now for my least favorites.
Ok honestly, I have a bone to pick with Jennifer Lopez aka J.Lo aka Jenny from the Block whatever it is she is calling herself these days. I am so sick of her face popping up everywhere like a desperate Debbie at all media events. Honey face it you're done. This dress while hitting the voluminous trend looks like it is made out of bubble wrap and looks like a Barbie tent.
I am upset with these ladies who aren't NOMINATED wearing these over the top dresses...(ahem Miley Cyrus). Even if you're presenting I don't think its appropriate to be over the top. If you're not nominated or your movie isn't then you don't get the option of wearing an "extravagant look at me" dress.
As for SJP loving the hair not loving the Chanel and same goes for Diane Kruger. Sorry Karl.

My favorite look of the night was Nicole Richie. I am loving the hair, the make up, the dress, the back. If I was going to the Oscars this is what I would wear. Loving it!

What were your Oscar hits and misses?

Editorial Bliss

I love Marisa Miller's spread in this up coming issue of Vegas magazine. Her bleached out wig gives her an edgier look and I love how the editorial was styled. Socks with peep toe heels (knew that trend wasn't going anywhere). They played with Spring trends here with the lingerie, shorts, and Army inspired top, and boleros. I love every look so much she is background status for my phone and twitter.

Getting schooled

Hi dolls-just want to let you know I'll be MIA this week taking comprehensive exams to wrap up my masters! Yeay! Be back soon! XO
